Basics of dream levels
There are four basic levels of consciousness. These four levels can be
defined and separated using the definition of the cross. The main path
consists of being either conscious or unconscious. The second path
consists of partial states of either consciousness or unconsciousness.
Each of these states represents how much control your unconscious or
conscious aspects have control. Depending on how much control your
unconscious aspect has will determine the kind of dream that you have.
The scale uses numbers to show an approximate percentage for conscious
control. The exact amounts will vary from person to person.

Conscious-------Semiconscious
--------------Semi subconscious-----Subconscious
Fully conscious
In this state the subconscious has little if any direct control. It is
in this state that most people do their mundane and routine tasks.
Semi-conscious
This state is the state of daydreams. It can be also thought of as the
alpha state or close to it. In this state a person tends to be more
creative. The subconscious is also given some influence over the mind as
well.
Semi-unconscious
This state mostly consists of the dreams that you are aware of. Many
people are also capable of controlling or influencing the dreams directly as
well. Quite often most of a person who lucid dreams or dream astral
projects is done at this level as well.
Full-Unconscious
In this state a person has no conscious control over the
dream. The unconscious mind has full control here. In this state the
person has no choice to sit back and observe. At this level the mind will
explore things and ideas that the conscious mind refuses to deal with. It
can also explore what might have happened in situations the dream would have
liked to happen.
This is the tool used to understand what a dream might mean or not
mean. Dreams use symbols for everything. That doesn’t mean the same
symbol means the same thing in every dream. The mind picks out one aspect
of any particular symbol for a specific dream. The symbol in general can
have a hundreds or thousands of possible meaning to them. However it is
only the one aspect that is important for the dream.
For example I know this one married lady who had a particular dream.
She has been divorced quite a few times. Her current relationship was on
the rocks and threatening to either break up or enslave her. One
particular dream she had is as follows. This is written years after the
dream so it isn’t exact. The general ideas however are still valid.
The lady in question in her dream was being threatened by something. It
could have been a particular threat or just the hint of one. In either
case she was scared and felt the need to go running to someone for help.
The person she had chosen was one of her ex-husbands.
There are several aspects in this dream. First is the threat.
Being unidentified would mean she doesn’t want to face where the threat is
coming from. If the threat was identified it would mean she was ready to
at least face what the threat is. If she knew what the threat was
depending on how scary or frightening she made it in her dream would determine
how threatening she saw it in real life.
The second other piece is the ex-husband. Obviously she felt he had
many bad qualities. So much in fact that she felt she could no longer live
with him. I was never told what his other qualities are or were. In
fact the rest of the ones are really unimportant. What this dream says is
that this ex-husband was someone she could turn to in times of stress or
conflict. If he weren’t then she would have chosen something or someone
else to turn to in her dream.
In either case in this dream she is looking for support from the
ex-husband. If in the dream she has this person deal with it in some
manner it would mean she isn’t ready to deal with the threat. If however
she deals with the threat it would mean she is ready to deal but still needs the
emotional support.
Other aspects of the dream could be used to understand it even more.
However I wasn’t given the information for further analysis. Still, this
dream and its symbols can give a good example of how to understand a dream.
Some of those symbols can be where the events of the dream take place.
Do they take place in familiar surroundings or someplace you have rarely spent
time at? The location of noticing the threat is an indication of how close
to you it has become. If the threat is noticed someplace familiar or at
home it would mean the threat is felt at being very close to your personal
life. If it is felt someplace less familiar it could mean the threat is
there but hasn’t invaded as far as it could have.
With the ex-husband it can be an indication of how safe he makes you feel or
how much security he gives you. If with this person you go to him in a
very familiar place it would mean that you need a lot of support. If it is
a less familiar place you find this person it would mean you need less support
because you are able to leave your familiar comfort and support structures.
The way this lady was dressed in each part of the dream can mean things as
well. The more fragile and revealing the cloths being worn when noticing
the threat would mean she feels weaker, frightened or invaded by the
threat. If on the other hand she were wearing cloths that have more
substance or strength it would mean she feels stronger, less frightened or
invaded by the threat.
When dealing with the ex-husband less cloths or fragile cloths would mean she
needs more support and protection. Stronger, sturdier or less revealing
cloths would indicate she feels she needs less support and protection.
If more is known about the dream it could be taken even
further. However this is enough information for a basic understand of the
dream in question. This dream only concerns two scenes. It is quite
possible there were more involved in the dream that weren’t mentioned.
This is actually happens more often then people realize. The purposes
can be many things. In the worst case it is an outright attack. In
the best cases it is the dreamer who gains all the benefits from the
dream. It can also be anything in between. The reasons it happens
are as varied as those who invade.
A dream may be able to notice and deal with such events. This
will depend mostly upon what level the person is dreaming on. The more
unconscious the dream is the less power the dreamer will have in the
dream.
