Definitions

A definition is a way of describing something.  In this description is contained anything that is looked or searched for when this item is brought into question.  If it were not looked, searched or needed there would be no reason to include it in the definition.  All a definition is then is a checklist of things to look for when an item is called into question.

Ex.  Item = Check one, Check Two, Check Three

Opposites

This says that if something is looked for, searched for or checked of a condition must exist when this check mark is left blank.  This is what we call an opposite.

Ex.  Item = Check one, Check Two, Check Three

Opposite = Unchecked one, Unchecked two, Unchecked three

Negative and Positive

This is another way at looking at opposites.  This definition says that one side of the equation has all of the power.  The opposite side therefore must have a negative power.  That is one side gives something. The other side takes something.

Ex.  Positive = Giving

       Negative = Taking

The Scale

This is another way at looking at opposites.  Think of an old fashion kind of scale.  It is similar to the ones used for the idea of “The scales of justice”.

With out any weight on either side it has a balance of zero.  When weight is added to one side that side gains value.  If weight is added to the other side the first side looses value.

This shows that as one side gains power the other often times loses power.  In some cases it is the overall effect that is changed.  In other instances both sides retain their full weight.

Ex.  Side one (10 weight) ------- 5(Combined weights) ------ 0 ------- Side two (5 weight)

Neutrality

The idea of neutrality takes into consideration the definition of the scale.  In this case it is the overall combined weights that are considered.  Each side doesn’t have any power in its own right.  It is only the combined power that has any meaning.

The idea of neutrality can be seen with this definition.  That is that both sides of the scale remain equal.  That is the total value of weight must remain at zero.  The result of this is that neither side gains any weight, force or power over the other side.

To remain truly neutral what ever happens on one side must happen on the other.  One effect could be that each side is immune to the effects of change.

It could also be that what happens on one side must happen on the other.  This also takes into consideration the idea of positive and negatives.

Consider a person who tries to remain neutral or at ground zero between good and evil.  This person saves another persons life.  At this point the person loses that zero ground.  In order to retain that zero ground this person must now kill another person.  If this murder doesn’t happen this person can no longer claim to be at point zero between good and evil.

Ex.  Good ----------------------- 0 (Neutral) --------------- Evil
